Johanneshof in Hockenheim

It used to be a great insider tip, but has been a well-organized horticultural business for several years. Even if you hardly get a free seat without a reservation (apart from Corona), a visit there is always worthwhile. The food is varied and very tasty, whether hearty or light fare, everything is on offer. The cake shouldn't be missing either and is very tasty. Only the wine spritzer is more expensive than here in the Palatinate 😏. Operation and service ... everything was great. Hopefully it can be reopened soon.

We were having breakfast ... and surprisingly disappointed! There is more varied and better value for money. Ambience and service very nice / good. Farm shop to be recommended.

We arrived late at night. The service is super friendly. I can really recommend the burger! But the Maultaschen are also great. A cozy and relaxed atmosphere with great wine.

Excellent! Always a pleasure. Everything is just right ... the food is delicious ... the service is super friendly and even the dog has a bowl of water right next to it. We feel good and always like to come back. 👍😃

This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend. We decided to have lunch on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our 9 year old daughter. We had a lovely table in the garden. There is also a small playground for little kids. The garden area is quaint and secluded. We ordered the hamburger, flank steak and sausage. The hamburger was mouth watering. The extra jalapeños gave the burger that extra kick. For dessert, we shared the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. The combination was irresistible. I gladly broke my keto diet for this celebratory lunch. 😋. We would definitely go again and will bring friends and family members. Make a reservation if you want to have a table. Nearby is a corn maze so we went directly there to burn off some calories!

I spent a weekend there with our two young children and it was perfect. All employees are super nice, delicious things in the farm shop as well as in the inn, there is a small playground, the food is even brought to the room, everything is very tasty! In the large kitchen in front of the room there is a drink, fruit etc. in the refrigerator. The rooms are very clean, only a bit noisy in the weekend at night when facing the parking lot. We'll be back in two weeks 😍

Has subsided a bit over the years. It was really delicious and cozy here. Well mass without that little bit of class. But the wait staff was extremely friendly.

Inconvenient opening hours for WORKING people

Went there on Sunday in rainy weather. Great sitting under the awning. Food (sausage salad, tiramisu ice cream, etc.) delicious as always. Just like the punch. And the offer of the farm shop is first class in terms of quality.

Always an experience, even in times of Corona. The hygiene rules are well implemented, there is enough space and a successful atmosphere to feel good. The menu is varied, there is something for every taste. The food is delicious.

Wow!! The waiters are rarely well organized. Outside at a reception desk, the data is recorded by the staff, nobody has to touch a disgusting pen. Then you get a one-way menu and are shown to the square. The yard was then teeming with wasps. We had already asked ourselves how we should eat in peace. In addition, clear consumption recommendation: The burger! 🍔🐝 Totally awesome - the burger came with coleslaw, pickled onions and pickles. As soon as the burger was there, the wasps were gone. -> Because of all the vinegar. A very interesting creation in terms of taste. Very salad, patty even medium rare with a great consistency, but unfortunately very lean and tasteless. It was delicious, but didn't really taste like burger as you usually know it. Potato wedges very tasty, could be a little thinner and crispier. Coleslaw wasn't that cute either, but as already mentioned, I can well imagine that this is a brilliant trick against the wasps 👍 Apple cider very, very tart and clear. Great atmosphere here in the garden, everything was very neat and clean. Ideal after an excursion in the corn maze. Please call and reserve beforehand.

The breakfast is just great. Lunch / dinner is also super casual, there is a not exactly small selection of home-style meals. It is very nice for families there, with the adjoining playground where the kids can let off steam. So personally I like to be at the Johanneshof very much and couldn't complain all these years, just TOP !!!

Thank god I can go back. I really missed that, just nice, tastes good too, suitable for vegetarians. The cake is very tasty and the supermarket is well stocked with excellent goods. Keep it up!

A friendly English speaking host with a hospitable attitude and a open smile. Most of the staff speak only German. A studio cost including breakfast 120 euros per night. Communication by telephone is a big challenge in order to get down two bags which were left behind by mistake. The e-mail sent on 2nd August with regard to this matter is not yet (17th) replied by the host!?

Always tasty and great service! And while everyone is feasting, the little ones can let off steam in the playground. Perfect. It is essential to book in advance, as the places can only be allocated to a limited extent due to Covid.

The food is delicious, big portions, lots of vegetarian options. The biergarden is beautiful. Every time I have been there, service was nice, attentive and quick :)

Have been visiting this restaurant again after a while and was very lucky to catch a seat without reservation. Food was very delicious, prices fair and staff ( Larissa in my case ) was very friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit - but a reservation is recommended for sure.

The Johanneshof certainly has one of the most beautiful beer gardens in the region and is ideally accessible by bike, both from the Palatinate and Baden. The menu is regional and delicious! The service is also excellent!

Delicious! Unfortunately I didn't make the dessert. All of the dishes looked fabulous. The choice of dishes and drinks is large. We were only visiting, but would love to come back;)

An absolute relaxation to eat there. Highest quality of food and drinks, many from regional cultivation and homemade. The service is always very attentive and friendly! Very great atmosphere, especially when you are sitting in the small part of the beer garden.

I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. The employees are committed, nice and competent. The selection of dishes and drinks is large, varied and the quality of the dishes offered is beyond any doubt. The Johanneshof also hits the mark in terms of taste. An absolute recommendation in every respect!

Great place for a rest.

Came from the United States for vacation in Germany. My boyfriend took me here as he says the restaurants always have a special seasonal menu and cook with fresh ingredients! For appetizer we ordered the spring salad with quiche and a special almond(?) dipping sauce. I loved the salad...very fresh and the sauce goes so well with the quiche! I ordered a dish with liver dumpling, wurst, and sauerkraut. This meal comes with a side of bread. The gravy goes so well with the food and the liver dumpling was out of this world! My boyfriend got a burger with potato fries. The meat was so juicy and good! I gotta say the food was amazing! And I had a good time here, I will definitely come here again when I visit! ❤

Great local farmer's market/restaurant. Very healthy options available. Super cozy and the staff are really friendly. Wasps might be a little of a problem but this is what happens when you're eating with nature.

Wonderful service. The waitress knew my daughter's name the minute we arrived. I am extremely happy they offer organic eggs and meat from farmers they know and trust. Also, decaffeinated coffee is a real bonus.

A nice place to eat at when you're doing a Biketour or even by horse. But you can get there with your car as well. The food was very good, especially the Burger and it was brought to us quite fast. Overall a very nice plays to eat and even to buy vegetables or fruits from their Farmshop.

Not many food options

We went there because of friends and family members told us it would be a great place to go for food. First off, food was delicious. Everything we've ordered was perfect. We were a group of 6 people. Staff was friendly and on point. Kids were happy too, because of the playground in the garden area. I must admit I didn't expect it to be that good, really. Parking wasn't an issues either. Enough space to park the car and if it's to crowded you simply park a view meters away and have a nice walk around the area. It wasn't our last visit and I'm sure to suggest this place to others as well.

Fun, light hearted, restaurant with excellent food and wonderful friendly staff. My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant one evening and were pleasantly surprised. Our food, leberknödel, bratwurst, fresh tomato soup, and potato salad, was outstanding. Very kid friendly. This place has a great vibe and is worth a visit.
